Two-time 24H SERIES class champion Porsche Lorient Racing has confirmed at least one Porsche 992 GT3 Cup for the Michelin 992 Endurance Cup by Porsche Motorsport on 6/7 September, marking the French team’s return to competition with CREVENTIC for the first time since 2022. 

Founded in 2000, Porsche Lorient Racing is a long-time associate of Porsche Centers Lorient and Brest, and made its debut with CREVENTIC back in 2015. Prior to that, ‘Centre Porsche Lorient’ had competed primarily in the French GT Championship and V de V Endurance. 

Since 2015, the Lanester-based team, which enters the event as ‘Ancel Motors by Porsche Lorient Racing’ in deference to team patriarch Frédéric Ancel, has taken eight class wins in the 24H SERIES as well as the 991 Teams’ championships in 2018 and 2019. Now, after focusing its racing program most recently on Porsche Carrera Cup France, Porsche Lorient Racing will make its first race start with CREVENTIC in over 18 months this September.

Speaking with the Dutch promoter, team manager Aude-Marie Milton admits that an endurance race exclusive to Porsche’s most developed GT3 Cup car yet – the 992 – against many of Europe’s most competitive Porsche customers was too big an opportunity to miss. 

“We love endurance racing, and to race only with other Porsche 992 Cups, we couldn’t miss this!” Aude-Marie explains. “We’re expecting a very high-level race with teams from all over the world competing with the 992 Porsche.   

“Porsche is in our heart, and we hope to race to the maximum [at Spa-Francorchamps].”

Unsurprisingly, the two-time series champion, which has previously competed at Spa’s 12-hour and 24-hour events (the team took back-to-back 12-hour class podiums in 2018 and 2019), has a strong result in-mind for the 992 Endurance Cup on 6/7 September. Speaking candidly, Aude-Marie is unconcerned by the expectations that come with being a former champion with a Porsche Cup car, though admits the level-playing field will offer a tough challenge. 

“We have nothing to prove,” she continues. “But when you participate in any race, you aim to finish 1st.”

Jokingly, Aude-Marie adds:

“Perhaps instead it is our adversaries who should worry about our presence!”
