After its hugely successful debut last September, the Michelin 992 Endurance Cup powered by Porsche Motorsport makes a very welcome return later this year at Spa-Francorchamps in Belgium – with some exciting enhancements being announced by race organisers Creventic.

Aiming to become a true hallmark event for Porsche 911 GT3 Cup (992) drivers and teams, the second annual edition of the fabulous 12-hour race will be contested on Saturday, 6 September, at the iconic Ardennes circuit. 

For the 2025 race, Creventic is pleased to announce a series of positive changes which are focused on delivering an even greater experience for competitors many of whom, of course, compete in the Michelin 24H SERIES.

This year brings a change to the AM class for the Michelin 992 Endurance Cup with organisers choosing to split the category into two, a newly named AM-B class for Bronze graded drivers and the AM-S class for Silver graded competitors. Silver drivers will be permitted a maximum of four hours of driving time, while there is no limit on the driving time a Bronze racer can complete. 

With a class exclusively for Bronze rated competitors, the intention is to provide more focus on Bronzes. In addition to providing an excellent outlet for such drivers in a dedicated class, the change of the structure will, it is planned, lead to even greater competition too.

Creventic has confirmed there will be no changes to either the PRO or PRO-AM classes, and – as during the maiden Michelin 992 Endurance Cup last year – there will be no Balance of Performance (BOP) at all with a grid solely comprising Porsche 911 GT3 Cup (992) cars. 

In terms of driving time in PRO-AM, Bronze drivers must complete a minimum of five hours during the race, there is no limit for Silver drivers while any Gold or Platinum rated competitors are permitted a maximum of four hours. In PRO, both Bronze and Silver racers have no limit on time but Gold and Platinum drivers can only run a maximum of five hours.

While PRO and PRO-AM squads are, of course, the most likely to challenge for outright victory in this September’s Porsche 911 spectacular at Spa, every team from each class is eligible to compete for the overall win.

Last year the Black Falcon Team 48 Losch entry won the inaugural Michelin 992 Endurance Cup powered by Porsche Motorsport, while PRO-AM success went the way of Tierra Outdoor Racing by HWM and QMMF by HRT was victorious in the AM class.
